Border-Gavaskar Trophy
AUS vs IND: Josh Hazlewood’s honest admission before Perth test
Sourav Roy, Perth: The pitch at the Optus Stadium in Perth is expected to be a green carpet and it’s no-brainer that fast bowlers will have to do most of the job. Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood acknowledged being relieved about not bowling to veteran Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Pujara’s defensive batting took the steam out of the Australian pacers on the last two tours.
Hazlewood highlighted Pujara’s ability to bat for longer sessions. “I’m happy that Cheteshwar Pujara isn’t around this time. He’s someone who spends a lot of time at the crease and tires the bowlers,” he said. Furthermore, Hazlewood acknowledged the importance of Virat Kohli’s wicket but maintained that India boasts other equally effective weapons in their ranks.
